What is Radon?

Radon is a tasteless and oderless gas that forms as an end product of radium decay. Radon is a naturally occurring element that takes a gaseous form and is one of the densest substances to remain a gas, at normal temperatures and pressures. Radon is undetectable by human senses and the only way to know if it is present is to test.

Radon occurs throughout most environments in very small quantities but when it enters your house it can accumulate to dangerous levels. The danger of radon exposure is lung cancer, new studies are showing links to other cancers but they are still being scrutinized. Radon accounts for the majority of most people’s exposure to ionizing radiation.
